Electrophorus
An invention the Volta improved, named and made popular, which involves a base insulator/ Dielectric (originally made of resin and wax) and a metal plate with a non-conductive handle.
Charging the Dielectric with static electricity by rubbing with fur for example, allows an induced charge to be created on the metal plate when it rests on the base. Further enhanced by removing the plate and allowing sparks to be generated from the plate seemingly endlessly. More details to follow.
For now this is more of a scratch book for me to collect links to articles and videos.
